After two weeks of grueling data input, Jeremy was able to recreate Sector 5 with Franz Hopper's help from across the internet.
During the two weeks, in addition to Sector 5 Jeremy had managed to create a voice synthesizer, which can alter a person's voice to sound like any person of their choosing. Using this they tell their principle that William has gone overseas to study abroad.
He also manages to redesign their virtual forms, giving Ulrich two sabers and Aelita wings.

Next school year begins.
Since Aelita had regained her memory and other fragments of her genetic data, she can now be devirtualized like Odd, Ulrich, or Yumi. Also she now has the ability to attack using energy fields.
After spending their whole holiday working, Jeremy has no idea how to proceed. XANA could be anywhere on the internet, and they have no idea how to attack it, or what its doing. They do find out what its goals are however: To destroy Lyoko.
XANA can only be tracked through Lyoko, (using an updated version of the superscan) so XANA needs to destroy it through one of

A month passes with no luck at the anti-virus
Jeremy has perfected several new programs, including new vehicles for Odd (overboard [floating surfboard]), Yumi (overwing), and Ulrich (overbike [floating motorcycle]). He has also perfected a new super scan, to detect towers when they're activated by XANA.
This also allows Aelita to live on earth. She no longer has to listen for pulsations on Lyoko. She, although they cannot shut off the supercomputer, can live on earth. They enroll her at Kadic Academy as Aelita Stones, Odd's cousin, and she has her own room at the school.
